Destin Florida Homes Are Showing An Increase in Sales

Destin, Florida has one of the most resilient real estate markets around. With its emerald green water, crystal sand beaches, and sunny weather, the Destin real estate market appears to be pandemic-proof. It seems that the current home buyer’s disposition is as sunny as Florida itself, meaning that home buyers are not allowing a global pandemic to stop them from buying their dream homes. Regardless of the global uncertainty due to Covid-19, home sales in Destin are showing no signs of slowing down. In fact, research is suggesting quite the opposite: home sales in the panhandle are picking up.

According to Movoto, the average number of days on the market for a Destin home has decreased overall compared to the previous few months. corroborates this trend, showing that the number of days that a Destin home will stay on the market has decreased by six percent year over year.

According to Zillow, the Destin market is very hot, meaning it is a great time to sell homes. In general, when the market is hot, there are more buyers looking for homes than there are homes available. This means that in the current market, home sales in Destin will increase on average. This is great news for homeowners in Destin who have been looking to put their homes on the market. There is no better time than that of a seller’s market to list a property.

In a hot market, not only are homes selling quickly, buyers are often willing to pay even more than the list price. In Destin’s current real estate climate, median sales prices will increase and homes may only stay on the market for a few days before the “For Sale” sign turns into a “Sold” sign (The Balance).

Destin, Florida is a secure place to buy a home. With a country full of people who are aching to get out of their houses and back to the beach, Destin’s tourism industry continues to look promising. In the current climate, many Destin home buyers are looking to turn their properties into rental units and some are looking to stay in the area long term. The great news is that whether home buyers are looking for rental properties or a new place to call home, Destin properties are continuing to sell – and quickly.

Ken Spivey, the Pilot

Ability +  Preparation + Integrity +  Relationship = Service

This is more than just a string of buzz words. Service is at the core of Ken Spivey’s life. His family and friends will attest to his desire to serve others. Throughout is professional life as an Air Force instructor pilot, as a pastor, as a small business owner, as a hospice chaplain, and as a realtor; the desire to meet the needs of others has been Ken’s motivation! A phrase in the snack bar at his first Air Force squadron has shaped his life through the years—“If you see something that needs doing, DO IT!”

Without ability and preparation, though, service accomplishes little. Likewise, accomplishments without integrity may be quite costly! All these are key components of great real estate service; and they come down to having a close relationship with his clients. Ken recognizes that every transaction is a business deal; but behind every deal are real people, each looking for financial benefit! His goal is to help each side experience victory, whether buying or selling a “starter home”, or engaging in a multi-million dollar venture!

Every client is a unique individual, with unique real estate goals/needs. Ken wants each client to realize they are valued first and foremost as an individual. He treats every client with equal value, and brings the best of his ability and preparation to every transaction. Always with integrity as the foundation, he takes time to get to know his clients’ goals, building a relationship that allows him to serve every individual with excellence!
